We have had so little time of late. My work and my work has kept me hopping. We have some new news and old. A few days after my elk Hunt ended in Sept. I started working for Wadsworth Brothers Construction. After thirty nine years of working and building a company we sub come to the economy of a failing country. How every good or bad all of this is it still remains to be played out in the halls of a government. I am still proud of the principals of the constitution of the USA but have reservations as to weather those who have been empowered to represent us know of any of the pain of the common man, woman and children of this nation. These self serving individuals have lost all contact with us. They have rallied to power on the lack of knowledge of most Americans voters and I might add the lack of interest by the same group of people.
If I can instill any concept of responsibility in you all it would be that you get involved attend the town hall meetings/ understand the government you are ruled by because we are no longer governed by our elected officer. Some times as Thomas Jefferson once said " a country needs a revolution every 200 years or so" The revolution is here now and it has come in the form of the newly elected congress persons. Take the time to write, or e-mail your Representative and tell him or her of your expectations and your concerns. If they send you a canned answer back then can them in the next election. I have wrote to my rep. and Senator and got a canned letter back from Sen. Hatch. Yep you got it he will not get my vote ever or never or ever..... Tell your friends and neighbors to do the same. It is only by changing those who don't hear us that we will get real change in our government. You might look at those who are suppose to be serving you and ask what did they do before they were congressmen and senators. If it has been so long that they nor you or anybody else knows what they did in the pre government life then they need to be replaced.
OK so some lighter things .
We enjoyed the blogs of you all. It is fun to see what is new in your lives.
Keep posting the family pic's and all the fun stuff.
I up loaded the two pic's. The first one is of an old abandon mining operation in the west. These old mines are scattered around the mountains of the western US. I love to poke around in them and imagine what the men were looking for and search for clues in the rock that were left laying about. They all contain some kind of ore/gold / silver/ copper. Some stories I have heard about say people have found old coins and relics in such places. So I do kind of keep an eye out for something that was left behind and was over looked by all the rest of the intruders of these ghost mines.
The other Pic is of Niagara Falls I was impressed with its size and over all mass of water but was shocked to find out that the Colorado river carries twice as much water as the river that feeds the falls. That is really something. I have rafted the Colorado and had no idea of the amount of water traveling there in. One of the other interesting things concerning the Colorado is that Hover dam that was built in 1931/32 and was built two years a head of Sced. and that the water was diverted around the dam through 5 tunnels that were drilled by man held rock drills that were operated off scaffolding at a height of 40 foot above the bottom of the tunnel. It was also build under government funded money too put men back to work after the great depression.
