I wanted to share this photo of the Memorial at the city cemetary
We (Me and the Boys) built this Monument to the Veterans who are burried in Sp. Fork City Cemetary . When the project was started I was named to be the contractor in charge of all the concrete and placement of the flag poles. As the project got under way the Vet council pulled me in to be an adviser to the project. I have been working on the up keep of the site every sense. This winter we added two more walls to the Memorial. We didn't for see the growth in the city. Each veteran who served and has current residence in the city and dies while he or she lives in the city has their name placed on a plack and attached to one of the Walls of Honor. There were just two walls and we used both sides of the wall so tecknacly we had four walls. We origenaly thought that they would not be full for 30 years. We have filled them in just 12 years. That is 1400 names. Of course that included those who were here during the 1800's wars with the Indians and Civil war vets. It has been interesting to see the different vets represented. We had 2 from the Mormon Battalion.
So this is what I wanted to get to. We again donated all our time to this worthwhile project. Sense doing so we have been as busy as can be. Thing have come through for us in buisness that well quit frankly I didn't think would happen. We have had more and more work. We have been front and center in the news paper 6 or 7 times and that helps but I can't help from thinking we got a lot of extra help from on high.
The other day I sent out an e-mail about a topic concerning our course of direction. It was faked and not wrote by the said author. I ask each recepiant to respond to there thoughts on the subject. I was pleased to read each that responded. But there was one that stood out above all the others. In short it said this. Quoting Esra Taff Benson " We should spread the seeds of hope and restrain ourself from the seeds of despair." And " be a sured there is a plan and the Lord God is still in charge" and from Bruce R " be a sured that the stars and stripes will still fly when the Savior Jesus Christ returns"
Hope you all enjoy the spring time of your lives.
